Dis-Information
Liberal Lies
Sometimes I get a little outdone with the national
news media, especially with respect to their penchant for molding public
opinion to conform to the biases of liberals. It may be that conservatives
are biased, too, but I doubt were as bad.
Recently, NPRs Terry Gross, who hosts "Fresh Air," interviewed a comic,
a member of the Axis of Evil Comedy group. The group is composed of three
individuals of three different descents, Iranian, Egyptian and Palestinian
When the Iranian member was asked about similarities and differences between
the situation leading up to the war in Iraq and the present political tension
with Iran, he commented that he hoped the "difference would be if they [U.S.]
actually gave diplomacy a shot."
He further expressed his desire that Iranians "don't have the same tragedy
that's happening in Iraq."
The point that rang loud and clear to me was that the Iraqis are worse off
today than before the US led invasion.
His interviewer missed a good opportunity to have him elaborate or to defend
his point of view. Personally, I believe Terry Gross to be a good interviewer,
though I dont always enjoy listening to her radio program. Generally,
shes well prepared and can be relied upon to ask her guests interesting
questions, even when I find her guests uninteresting.
Had her recent guest made only one comment with regard to the war effort,
I might have dismissed it as a comics malformed opinion, but the second
one caused me to wince when Terry failed to respond to either obvious jab
at the current administration. But, among the liberals and the members of
the media who hold like opinions, its all about another day of "punch
the President."
I could hardly believe Terry Gross didn't question the comic's claim that
we did not give diplomacy a shot prior to initiating Operation Iraqi Freedom.
It was only after years of failed diplomacy and the failure of Saddam Hussein
to abide by United Nations resolutions that we chose to use military force.
As informed as Terry Gross is, she surely knows this. However, she kept silent.
In my opinion, the national media is responsible for the whacking the Republicans
took in the mid-term congressional elections. After all, the media has told
us, almost from day one, we could not win the war, that once ground troops
starting fighting in Iraq we were in a quagmire, and they were soon echoing
the Democrats complaint that the Bush administration did not have an exit
strategy. The Liberal media has been unrelenting in its attack on conservatism
and the Bush administration.
I learned a long time ago that the average American is highly susceptible
to media-brainwashing. No matter the message, if its played long enough
it will become believable. The media has convinced millions of Americans
that the U.S. needs to pull out of Iraq but has failed miserably to share
any of the devastating consequences of so doing.
As far as I can tell, the most oft-repeated falsehood perpetuated by the
media is that Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction and led us into
war for the wrong reasons. Since the entire world knew the Iraqi dictator
possessed weapons of mass destruction and had actually used them on the Kurds,
it's inconceivable and inexcusable that the media and the Democrat Party
would ignore the facts and attempt to rewrite history. Our decision to "give
diplomacy a chance" merely provided a window of opportunity with sufficient
time for Iraq to smuggle its stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons
into Syria and Iran.
The following are excerpts from an essay by Mark Alexander, dated 11 November
2005:
Politicians prior to 9/11/2001
Harry Reid: "The problem is not nuclear testing; it is nuclear weapons. ...
The number of Third World countries with nuclear capabilities seems to grow
daily. Saddam Hussein's near success with developing a nuclear weapon should
be an eye-opener for us all. [Saddam] is too dangerous of a man to be given
carte blanche with weapons of mass destruction."
Nancy Pelosi: "Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons
of mass destruction technology, which is a threat to countries in the region,
and he has made a mockery of the weapons-inspection process."
Politicians after 9/11/2001
Ted Kennedy: "We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking
and developing weapons of mass destruction."
Al Gore: "We know that he [Saddam Hussein] has stored nuclear supplies, secret
supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
Nancy Pelosi: "Saddam Hussein certainly has chemical and biological weapons,
there is no question about that."
In October 2002, by a large margin, a bipartisan majority of the Congress
authorized President Bush to use force if necessary to deal with the continued
threat posed by Saddam Hussein. In the legislation, the U.S. Congress stated
that Iraq, "Poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United
States ...[by] continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and
biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability,
and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations." These assessments
were echoed by foreign intelligence agencies from countries that included
Great Britain, France, Germany and Russia, and by the United Nations Security
Council in more than a dozen different Security Council resolutions between
1990 and the year 2000.
For the record: Here's a partial list of what didn't make it out of Iraq
before the OIF invasion: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium, 1,700 gallons
of chemical-weapon agents, chemical warheads containing the nerve agent
cyclosarin, radioactive materials in powdered form designed for dispersal
over population centers, artillery projectiles loaded with binary chemical
agents, etc. Assuming Iraq had no WMD because only small caches were recovered
after Operation Iraqi Freedom began is perilously flawed logic. There is
substantial evidence that Saddam exported most of his WMD capability to Iran
and Syria before OIF -- which may, eventually, find its way into a U.S. urban
center, should U.S. political, and consequently, military resolve wither.
This week, amid the rancor about who "lied," Senator Joseph Lieberman, had
this to say about our mission in Iraq: "I strongly supported the war in Iraq.
I was privileged to be the Democratic cosponsor, with the Senator from Virginia,
of the authorizing resolution, which received overwhelming bipartisan support.
As I follow the debates about prewar intelligence, I have no regrets about
having sponsored and supported that resolution because of all the other reasons
we had in our national security interest to remove Saddam Hussein from power
-- a brutal, murdering dictator, an aggressive invader of his neighbors,
a supporter of terrorism, a hater of the United States of America. He was,
for us, a ticking time bomb that, if we did not remove him, I am convinced
would have blown up, metaphorically speaking, in America's face. ... The
questions raised about prewar intelligence are not irrelevant, they are not
unimportant, but they are nowhere near as important and relevant as how we
successfully complete our mission in Iraq and protect the 150,000 men and
women in uniform who are fighting for us there."
So, ask Ted, Dick and Harry, what is their real agenda?
One might fairly conclude that they are willing to reduce U.S. national security
to political fodder by accusing the President of the United States of "lying."
Problem is, the President had no political motive for Operation Iraqi Freedom
-- only a legitimate desire to fulfill the highest obligation of his office
-- to defend our liberty against all threats.
Ted, Dick and Harry, on the other hand, have plenty of political motivation
for their most recent antics -- and all of America should look upon these
disgraceful Demo-gogues, and anyone who supports this dangerous folly, as
traitorous louts.
On 11 November, President Bush noted: "While it is perfectly legitimate to
criticize my decision or the conduct of the war, [I]t is deeply irresponsible
to rewrite the history of how that war began. ... We will never back down.
We will never give in. We will never accept anything less than complete victory."
UPDATE 11/2005: The Demos surrender and retreat:
"The idea that we're going to win this war ... is just plain wrong." --DNC
chairman Howard Dean
"There is no reason that young American soldiers need to be going into Iraqis
in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, uh, uh, uh, women...."
--John Kerry
More sanity from Mr. Lieberman: "It's time for Democrats who distrust President
Bush to acknowledge he'll be commander-in-chief for three more years. We
undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril."

Walk Among Us
The following was contributed by Ken Gaillard.
They Walk Among Us
Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge,
he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: "Free
to good home. You want it, you take it." For three days the fridge sat there
without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that
people were too un-trusting of this deal. It looked too good to be true,
so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale $50." The next day
someone stole it.
Caution: They walk among us!
One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when someone shouted.
.."Look at that dead bird!" Someone looked up at the sky and said... where?"
They Walk among us!
While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction
was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every
morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the north?" When my brother explained
that the sun rises in the east, and has for sometime, she shook her head
and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff."
They Walk Among Us!
I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got
a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open.
I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to end the call
quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific."
They Walk Among Us!
My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard
one of the young ladies talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend
drive to the shore. She drove down in a convertible, but "didn't think she'd
get sunburned because the car was moving".
They Walk Among Us!
My friend carries a lifesaving tool in her car. It's designed to cut
through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk...
They Walk Among Us!
While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza
to go. He appeared to be alone and the clerk asked him if he would like it
cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding.
"Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces..."
Yes, they really do walk among us
and, they are allowed to vote
and,
they reproduce!
