Writer ~ Newt Harlan

Newt Harlan was born, raised and educated in Texas. With the exception of the 4 years during the Vietnam Era spent as an aircrew member in the USAF, he’s lived within spittin’ distance of the place where he grew up. He managed to cram a four-year college course into nine years and by virtue of that remarkable feat, is a former student of six different schools. Finally, the academic standards committee at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas had a moment of weakness and gave him a degree.

Married for around 40 years to wife Edie, they have 5 kids, 9 grandkids and beaucoup great grandkids. He’s now retired after spending most of the past 40 years traveling Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama selling steel products. His hobbies include writing, great grandkids, hunting, fishing and visiting the local watering hole to swap honest lies and research material for stories.

Newt writes a weekly "column" he calls Honest Lies and Other Misguided Thoughts.  If you're interested in being added to his weekly emailing of HLOMT, drop us a note at editor@bodockpost.com.
